2012 Holiday Party

Happy holidays to everyone! In December, in lieu of our normal guild meeting we had our annual holiday party at the home of one of our members. Cyndi S. was gracious enough to open her home to us this year.

We had a really good turn out for the party, and it’s always a treat to get to visit with everyone.

As you can see in the photo above, Cyndi had the most clever way to display her stitched ornaments. Here’s a closer look…

The archways in her home were the perfect spot too! I just love this idea!! We all spent a lot of time admiring all the beautiful ornaments on display.

And as usual there was a veritable feast for us to indulge in. So many wonderful dishes to choose from.

And don’t forget dessert! We were thrilled to have Sylvia visiting from Germany and she brought this beautiful platter of deliciousness.

Once our appetites were satisfied, we all settled in for the serious business of the ornament exchange. And as you can probably tell by the paper crowns many of us were wearing, Marie brought some fun Christmas crackers for us to pop open.

2012 Ornament Exchange

I am always in awe of the beautiful ornaments that our members stitch for the exchange each year. Here are a few closeups.

This one was stitched by Cyndi. It’s Peace on Earth by Blue Ribbon Designs from the 2010 JCS Ornament issue.

This one was stitched by Marie, and it was the neatest thing. On top of being an ornament, it’s also a needlebook! It’s a Betsy Morgan design and stitched it on this beautiful gingham check fabric

2012 Ornament Exchange

So many gorgeous gorgeous ornaments! We really have a talented bunch of members! And it is always so fun to do the exchange and see what everyone brought.

A wonderful end to another wonderful year.

The January meeting has been moved to January 8th, since the first Tuesday of the month falls on New Year’s Day. We will be meeting at a temporary location, as we are still looking for a new permanent meeting location. Details are in the meeting reminder. Our program for the January meeting will be MAGIC revealed – we’ll see how everyone did on meeting their MAGIC goals for 2012!

Also, we still are in need of someone to fill the position of Secretary on the board. The guild continues to be what it is with the effort that each of its members puts into it – so if you’d like to volunteer to serve on the board, or know someone who would be a good candidate – please reach out to one of the 2013 board members.

As always – happy stitching!
