December 2024 Show & Tell

Each year members sign up to stitch and finish a holiday ornament for a secret someone. During the December meeting each ornament was shown along with the reveal of each recipient’s secret stitcher. It was great fun to see all these ornaments! (Some are pictured below.)

Stitched by Beth E.: “Hedgehogs by Clara Warschauer. One is for my daughter. The other is going to be a toy for my cabinet. I am trying to figure out how to use it as a thimble holder.”
Stitched by Barb B.: “Little Red Schoolhouse Pinkeep 1862 by Pansy Patch Quilts and Stitchery. Challenge for me was using 46 count Lakeside linen Vintage Exampler. I changed the date to 1882 when my Great Grandfather was born in Weston Ohio.”
Stitched by Barb B.: “This was a SAL project with friends. This is Teresa Kogut Dwelling Place. Done on 36 count PTP Doublin and called for colors. Was a bigger project than expected.”

Stitched by Barbara M.: “Iris Berries Bridge Box by Kandace Thomas Cross Pattern was in Stitch&Needlework December 1997. Itโ€™s a little flat because Iโ€™m still stuffing it with wool. Right now finishing my Christmas ornaments are a priority!”

I stitched on both Margaret Hutton and Mary Ann Turner (both are Scottish samplers) while on a trip to Scotland earlier this year.” (This first one is Margaret Hutton, a Hands Across the Sea workshop with the Queen City Sampler Guild)

Stitched by Denise D.: “Design Name – Christmas Bootie, Designer – Giulia Manfredini of Giulia Punti Antichi. Kit includes: 30 count linen, Valdani Aged Wine thread, form, wooden heart, bell, thread and finishing fabric. I painted the heart and put sparkles on it. Made for Vicki Noel.”

At the next meeting, in January 2025, the program will be the MAGIC (My Annual Good Intentions Contract) Reveal and a drawing for prizes for participants. Winners will be chosen by a random number generator so everyone who participates has a chance.
