In May, the guild welcomed Dawn Cook Ronningen from Collector with a Needle back to the guild for a presentation on Ladies Waist Pockets. Dawn shared several examples from her own collection from the 18th and 19th century. Dawn designed an exclusive pocket for the Tudor Rose guild and members were able to purchase the chart as well as an optional finishing kit. Dawn walked through the finishing instructions for the pocket and we look forward to being able to create our own waist pockets!
Our members’ finishes from the past month are full of spring colors, with birds and bunnies aplenty. We love seeing what our members have been creating with their needles.

In June, we will welcome Becky Noland of Lucy Beam and her daughter, Megan Shepherd of Lapin Loops to talk about how they got started in their respective businesses. Becky designs cross-stitch patterns under the name Lucy Beam both original designs and sampler reproductions. Megan creates beautiful hand-dyed fabrics under the name Lapin Loops. We can’t wait to learn more about how they started their businesses, what their inspiration was, and what we can look forward to in the future.
