Merry Cox has taught many workshops across the country. Merry is a very distinguished and highly respected needleworker in the industry. TRSG is extremely fortunate to have her share her workshops with us!
While in Paris a few years ago, I spotted this blue sampler. I was drawn to the simplicity of it and how the blue ribbon framed the sampler with bows in the corners. The antique dealer explained to me that this was from a convent since it was stitched in blue. “Souvenir de Marie” translates to “Remembrance of Mary”.
The sampler is stitched on 40-count ‘over 2’ and finished like the antique with a ribbon frame and bows in the corners. The pincushion/pinkeep is stitched on 40-count ‘over 1’ Tent Stitch. It is finished in a mattress type pincushion with pins at each side and ultra suede for the backing.
Kit includes: linen, thread, ribbon, pins, batting and backing material.
Additional details:
- The classes will start at 9:00 am Pacific Standard time, so please adjust to your time zone. The classes will take place on Zoom.
- Kits should reach you no later than 1 week before the workshop takes place.
- There will be an additional charge for shipping and the teacher’s fee once the kits have been mailed and will be due one week prior to the workshop.
- There is no pre-stitching requirement for the class.
Please make sure you can attend the class, as we do not encourage guild members to buy the kit but not attend class. Merry does not have an attendance requirement, but her classes are wonderful and well worth attending.
