It’s starting to look and feel like Fall! The weather has been absolutely beautiful. With the lovely change in temperatures comes the return of students to school and the ramp up in busy schedules. I hope you all are finding some time to stitch. Members have been very busy over the past two months and you will see that by all of the lovely show and tell displayed below.
August Meeting
In August, we welcomed Sandra Ball back to the TRSG to share her studies on the Salem Witch Trials. Sandra has a special family connection to this subject as one of her ancestors was caught up in the craziness. Sandra, thank you very much for such a informative presentation. While most of us have touched on this subject during our high school education, the information Ms. Ball shared with us is not in your normal course curriculum on this subject.

This patriotic romper is based on a dress by Barbara Griffin Forman in a Sew Beautiful magazine dated Summer 1988. Barbie used a vintage McCallโs romper pattern to create it โ 6944, but adapted the bodice and neckline for a quilted treatment.
September Meeting
In September, Debbie G. of Tudor Rose Sampler Guild shared a lovely slide show on Mourning Samplers. These samplers were created as a memorial to lost love ones. Thank you Debbie for your hard work researching and preparing this discussion for the Guild.

As members of the Tudor Rose Sampler Guild are aware, Kathy M., the owner of Stitch Niche and a member of TRSG, passed away last fall. For many months, wonderful volunteers (who are also TRSG members) assisted the family in keeping The Stitch Niche open. Throughout this time, Kathy’s family searched for someone to purchase the shop so it would not be closed. Thankfully, the shop was purchased and is now open on a regular basis. TRSG would like to wish them great success.
